Rev. Henry L. Peterson, Sr. has served as Pastor of Womack Memorial C.M.E. Church since April 1985, when he and his family were assigned by the Conference.

His early ministry was in the West Tennessee Conference of the C.M.E. Church. After moving to Indianapolis in 1980, he served two years as Assistant Pastor of Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church under Rev. Henry M. Williamson, and then pastored Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church in Covington, Kentucky, for about a year and a half.

In the Ohio-Central Indiana Region Annual Conference he has served on the Budget Committee and the Ministerial Examination Committee, and as Secretary.

Alongside his ministry, Rev. Peterson worked in environmental engineering for more than 35 years and continues as an engineering consultant. He describes his leadership as servant leadership focused on “Kingdom Building,” and he oversees ministries including Children and Youth Outreach and educational programs.

Rev. Peterson and his wife, Mrs. Vanessa Dale Patton-Peterson, have been married since 1977. They have two adult children and three grandchildren.
